Playaakun is the first property in Sian Ka’an Biosphere with 100 meters of private beach front and close access to lagoon.

Sian Ka’an starts immediately where Tulum beach zone ends, so it is very close to all eco-chic restaurants, beach clubs and boutique shops that dot the beach zone.

Even though Tulum’s beach zone is constantly developing, Sian Ka’an remains virgin and protected and offers bigger, more secluded and more private vacation locations. Currently, the private villas that are already built in Sian Ka’an are favorite hideaway places for the rich and famous that come here to enjoy total bliss and privacy on some of the world’s most beautiful beaches.

The Yaakuna legend

Yaakuna in native Mayan is a name of the Fertility Goddess, for the land and for people. Mayan people would come to this land to pray asking for help and blessings, bringing offerings in return. 

The great energy this place has is helping to disconnect from the everyday world and celebrate the love and abundance of life we have. 

Description

This beach front residence is designed for 8 - 10 people, but for special request up to 14 people.

It offers a infinity pool, spacious indoor & outdoor lounges, spacious kitchen, TV room and perfectly manicured beach garden spaces made for relaxation. The roof lounge area runs throughout the house size and is giving extra private outdoor space and open the most amazing views of the sea and sky shades of blues. Four ocean front bedrooms with A/C offers spectacular morning sunrises and easy access to the lounge-deck with the infinity pool. 

The dramatic entrance over a wooden bridge draws the eye right through the spacious reception hallway to the beachfront patio and pool, making this an excellent wedding venue or event venue and an ideal vacation villa for extensive families or groups. 

The lagoon, with the historical mysteries of its own, has the most beautiful sunsets for aperitivo. 

An Ecological Project

Only sustainable projects are allowed in Sian Ka’an  Biosphere due to protected unique flora and fauna and historical grounds surrounding it.  Even though Tulum’s beach zone is constantly developing, Sian Ka’an remains virgin and protected and offers bigger, more secluded and more private vacation locations.

Playaakun was built in line with strict Ecological Building Standards of the national park Biosphere and UNESCO, making everything possible to make us carbon-neutral! Please note that here is no electricity only solar panels. Only in extreme circumstances will we use the back-up generator.

Organic wastes are treated on site by three filters and recyclables are separated and used for the plants as organic food where possible. Please use the A/C and electrical appliances that are inverters and with care.

Also our beach is a turtle nesting area please check with us regarding the seasons.
